Chapter History

Zeta Tau Alpha at TCNJ

The Iota Gamma chapter was founded on January 31, 1981 at The College of New Jersey (formerly Trenton State College), officially becoming the 194th link in ZTA’s Chain of Chapters. Zeta Tau Alpha became the second national sorority established on campus, along with two local sororities and two multicultural sororities. It is now one of nine National Panhellenic organizations on TCNJ’s campus! As a chapter, we are most proud of our zero tolerance policy on hazing and our philanthropic efforts towards breast cancer education and awareness.

Furthermore, we are exceptionally proud of the honors and awards that Iota Gamma has received over the past couple of years:

2013 TCNJ's Chapter of the Year

2013 TCNJ's Outstanding President of the Year

2013 TCNJ's Greek Woman of the Year

2014 ZTA Crown Chapter

2014 ZTA Founder's Club

2014 ZTA 1st Runner Up to the Nelly Galloway Shearer Achievement Silver Award (second highest honor presented to a collegiate chapter)

2014 TCNJ's Greek Woman of the Year

A Letter From Our President:

Hi everyone!

My name is Emily Bartow, and I am the President of the Iota Gamma chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha at The College of New Jersey.  I have the pleasure of leading a passionate group of women who dedicate a portion of their college experience to being in our Fraternity.  Our chapter exemplifies what it means to be a Zeta Tau Alpha.  All of our sisters have a deeply held motivation for promoting our national philanthropy of breast cancer education and awareness. Additionally, we enjoy partaking in service and expanding our networks within and without our chapter.  Being a part of Zeta Tau Alpha has opened numerous doors of opportunity to each sister, therefore, we strive to give back to the Fraternity that has offered so much to us.  We have found our home away from home in Zeta Tau Alpha, and we hope you are able to do so as well!

Zeta Love and More,
Emily
